December Rolling Frenzy

This was the last time Pantz and Washashe would have together...little did they know, or really care!
They had been cooped up in the pea gravel paddocks for almost 2 weeks with our snow and ice. The stable was still on arena turn out mode, so this was all I had time for.... again....The mares could NOT get down to roll fast enough after I took those heavy winter blankets off! It truley was hilarious...them prancing in place to find the right spot to go down..then the Rolling Frenzy began!!
After that, Pantz thought she'd "herd" the Wa around the arena...and she did till Wa got tired of it and Kicked out! I like how horses don't have to miss..but they do!
Wa said ENOUGH!

Last time for them together... Pretty Pantz left yesterday for the coast to a different facility with her true mom owner, my sister.

It was a tough day for me, being weepy. Pantz knew something was up...she'd follow me till I would stop then she'd sniff my runny nose and I would just break out in sobs again. She pinned my head to her neck at the last and I just let er-rip.
She is deffinately the mare that stole my heart for how she could read my mind and act accordingly. I am going to miss her greatly.

I am still beat to heck after 5 hours of paddock management. I knew I was in for it when the owner said, "your paddocks look terrible". OH my friends....if a horse poos once and hour-roughly-I picked near 168 Craps out of two paddocks! They only crapped in the gravel, since the snow was 2 feet deep where they normally go!
My dear friend helped me and she told me today...she was SORE-SORE!!!

So, Pantz is gone and I am still very weepy. I have words for you on Wa's adjustment to a new pasture/roomate and her parting from Pantz went later but-Not to leave you in wonderment now- It ended up being very good. Will fill you in soon .

  1. Aww, what a cute video! I love the music too!
Sorry, Pantz left! Atleast you know where she is and who she's with though! And you know she's being taken care of :)
Man it is funny to see light horses roll! They just roll over like it's nothing. Klein has to put some effort in to roll her big self all the way over!

  2. ..thanks Stace, Yet, my heart seems unconsolable at the moment.

  3. I'm so sorry to hear about Pantz leaving. Horses will steal our hearts and half our souls, then when they leave us they take
    it all with 'em!

  4. Great video. I will miss Pantz too.

  5. What a bittersweet post. Sorry your heart is so heavy right now.

  6. Oh man, what a cute video! I know you miss Pantz, but it'll get better. And you know where she went, so you can go steal her back if necessary!

  7. You all are such dears to console here...I really appreciate your kind words.

  8. Bummer about Pantz! Those little appy mares can really steal your heart! At least you know where she is, who has her and that she's being taken care of. And, you can always meet up for trail rides and such to get the ladies back together for a bit.

Very cute video. I'm impressed your TB can roll all the way over. Brig goes down on one side, back up, back down on the other. I don't know if he can roll over!

  9. They sure love to roll once the blankets come off. Who can blame them, mine do the same thing to get the itchies out.
Sorry you will be missing Pantz, but she went to someone you know and will be well cared for. I'm sure you'll see her again soon.
In the meantime enjoy your paddock cleaning, ugh. And have a Happy New Year.

  10. I'm so glad you share videos like this on your blog, I always enjoy them :)

I hope you have a Happy New Year!

  11. Wow Pantz looks a lot like my Emma, especialy in the face. Is she Bright Eyes bred? At least she goes back to your sis and you know she loves her.

  12. Oh, I'm sorry you're hurting about Pantz. They sure do have a way of getting in our hearts don't they? And hopefully Wa won't miss her too much either. Hugs to both of you...thanks for stopping by. I've been gone more often than not lately - too busy - but I wanted to stop by and wish you a Happy New Year too!!! See ya on the flip side my little friend!!! 2009...bring it on baby!!

  13. BJones, I have seen some TB do what yours does-down then up and then down again for side 2! Such individuals!Yea, that Appy really did get into my blood!

Grey horse, Those itches were sooo bad this time for them all too, being in the blankets for almost 2 wks straight!
The horses that had to be inside the whole time FLUNG themselves to the ground and then reared and bucked for 30 minutes straight!
With one mare, Paddock cleaning is MUCH simpler now! HNY!!!

Reddunappy, I am not sure about the "Bright Eyes"breeding....I know that her sire and Dam were:Thorughbred/Quarterhorse/
My sissy really wants/needs a bigger horse and was given her a couple years ago, so her love vestment is not the same as mine-though she will take care of her, true.

C-ing Spots, bring on the NEW YEAR!!XO Kac

  14. I can't part with anything! Mush is my name.
Hope you are starting to feel a little better now that Pantz has been gone for a few days. As for picking paddocks...I also pick my pastures... and that is for 7 horses. In the winter it is much more difficult, but in the summer I can just keep up with it each day. Pickk on woman!!!
    Happy New Year.

  15. Awww! Oh my goodness! That's so funny! Great music to go with it...I'm sorry Pantz left! But, like others said, atleast you know she's in a good place and she'll still be happy. :)

  16. Oooohhhh, for a good roll!!!

Those special mares are pretty cool even when they steal our hearts and move on. It the sheer pleasure of getting to know them that's makes them precious. Looking forward to hearing about the new roomie.......

    Have a Happy New Year!

  17. Melli- I laugh every time I watch it...it was like the music was made for them!

    Yes R rainbow,
I am very gracious to have had a year with that mare...she taught me many things and surprisingly, much tolerace in my life away from the horses!Thankyou for your sweet words~
