I really am loving the area I am now boarding my mare. it is in the foothills of our Cascade Mountain ranges and I see them as I drive to the stable. I also pass the city's first church, schoolhouse and cemetery.
Recently, I was shaken to my core with circumstances that called for much faith and resolve to rise above.
Recently, I was shaken to my core with circumstances that called for much faith and resolve to rise above.
Having to move my mare hastily was the jump start to having to rely upon people with Godly character that hold firm foundations in a otherworldly faith and higher ethical practices.
Though it took me down a notch, emotionally so, I am now seeing the strengthening it has yielded.
This past Sunday, as I returned to worship in a 150 year old church; I gazed out the window from my pew at times. There was a violent wind in the branches outside.
I was reminded that my faith can be blown about like the tree and rattled like a window pane but, what holds it together is not myself, it is God.
Though I may turn away at times, He never does leave me and is right there, facing me as I turn back.
Our one room study was about just that; " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
It was about being content in whatever state I am .
I thoroughly enjoyed worshiping in that one room church, with humble hearts around me.
When I got to my mare's stall...she was looking very content herself...with her own window on the world~

Have a most wonderous day there!!
Oh, how beautifully said and written. God is always there, always with us, we just need to search for Him and spend time with Him everyday. If we open our hearts to the simple joys in life and remain thankful, every problem becomes easier.
ReplyDeleteYou really touched my heart with your photos and writings. What a lot we have to be thankful for.
What beautiful photos from the Cascades, very nice photos of the area.

ReplyDeleteYour post was so thought provoking. Glad I ran across it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post and your pictures are wonderful. I love that cute, quaint church. I think my favorite was our view of the window and your thoughts while looking out of it.
ReplyDeleteI think of the sturdy tree that stands no matter how strong the wind blows and believe my faith is like that tree. Sometimes my leaves and branches my sway too far right or too far left but it is the deep roots and foundation in Him that will always bring me back upright and that His love and forgiveness allows me to do that.
Great post. :-)
This was a beautiful post, Kacy. I can only say, "So true!!"

ReplyDeleteWhere is that church, I think i have seen it but can't remember where it is located
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Kac....I can tell from your heart. Phil 4:13 is my favorite bible verse and I HAVE to live my life by or I'm filled with the fears of this world. Many times I ask God to ride double with me when riding...I'm never alone....he is with us through all the storms of life. He places special people in our lives at special times when we need them most. Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely old church you attend, too. They remind me of the small church's found in the deep south. There are many scattered around the southern states and they usually one room as well.
