Sunday Stills In Motion

This is "Cougars Gold".
He is owned by a sweet friend of mine that moved out of state this past summer. I moved him for her to a new location, then documented his arrival and first playful jaunts into one of his paddocks. Then I sent her some hard copies of him and she was soo sweet to say, "they had great movement...they captured him perfectly."
He is a lovely creature! Enjoy!

Vinnie's impression of a Pit Bull

We went out to the stable today to try and retrieve some of My Pea Gravel...but it had snowed yet again!
So instead, my husband and I did my stall mucking, and on the way back to the paddock I saw Vinnie doing his "mouthy Vinnie thing" with Sport.
Sport does not complain much...a few random kicks here and there, but as you can see, once Vinnie is latched on-that is it. He sticks like glue, often ripping blankets, to Sports mom's dismay.
Though you can not see in the video below for the caked mud, there is an overlay rubberised sheet atop Sport's normal blanket. Vinnie's mom had to buy it for Sport because of the damage he caused the last blanket!

I am sure that the antics would have continued , but my cell phone rang, and that made them stop.

Watery Wednesday

On the drive to a favorite riding spot called Silver Creek falls- we had horses in tow, but decided to stop for our cup-o-java in the nearby township of Silverton.

As they brewed our caffeine delights and warmed our chosen baked delicacies for the final 15 minute drive to the lush trail system, I stepped out to a sky walk bridge that showed the buildings perched just above the lower Silver creek. The town of Silverton is quaint with it's historic buildings and Victorian beauties.
This wonderful waterway behind the buildings was enchanting with
the hues of gold above. It gave us the proper send off to meet with the rest of the group from CTRF.(Christan trail riders fellowship)
We had a glorious time riding in the lush rain forest type setting for the end of season.

To My friends here that know me well ,or have visited and grasped the essence of my spirit towards my Mare and life in general; I am setting off on an extended trail ride ,"figurativley".

I will return on a brighter day, out of winters chilly grasp and far from an ever contentious wind that has blown treacherously my way.

The mare and I bid you happy trails !!! I will check in for watering hole conversations~

Yours truly,

My World with a horse

I have decided that you are NO-ONE till you've been ignored by your horse!
My mare and I had been grooming in her outdoor stall. She had her precious hay bag full of yummys, and that is usually all it takes for her to be content. She is thin skinned and does not go in for much grooming..she wiggles and squirms and moves all over the place.Just about as annoying to me, as it must be for her.
This day, I thought she wanted a drink, after about 20 minutes of eating, and normally, even grooming won't make her hesitate to come on back to the stall for more precious hay......not this time.....So I am in the stall, making all the "come on back and get a treat" noises, like forever. And she is in the back part of her pasture the entire time. Absolutely no intention on coming back!
"Uh- maybe she won't see me all the way back here"
"Oh, she will understand...all this 1/2 in grass to eat"
"Oh, er"...she gives me the one eared, straight on look......

" Ohwa, somthin' maybe over to the right of me..needs lookin' at"......

" Oh anda, now somethin' to the left of me...it is catchin' my attention!"

Yep, had to go and fetch her for the grooming finale and then off to ride!

Sunday Stills Moon

This was last year in August for an Equine camp trip that turned very bright and loud with Lightening/Thunder . The full moon was just clouding over to look like a river in the sky, before the storm hit.
You can just see the horse paddocks in the blackened bottom corners.

Love to my mare

Friends

My (OUR) Friend, sweet and always clever girl LISA over at "Laughing Orca Ranch" residing, "for now" in the tower, bestowed this Friendship Award upon some of hers in January.

THANKS LISA...I really am touched to receive this from you. I truly wish to create and retain lasting friends here.

This is what is said about the recipients given this award:
"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends.
They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. " I am supposed to bestow this upon 8 more bloggers.

I have found some of my blogger buddies not interested in these , which is totally fine ~So, I really want to have this be open to those that come here and that have found friendship from me~ to them.
YOU know who you are !
I Share this lovely emblem with you, as dear Lisa shared it with me.Please share with your friends too!!

May your love of friendships have wings to fly always~ KK

Deeper than we anticipated!

My English is a Western wannabe

English saddles are NOT typically known for making squeaky/Creaky noises! Yet this little jump saddle is 44 ! So it does it's best to imitate it's westernsaddle cousins These days.

Sooo, you think me funny do you

LISA My Dear, From The tower Rapunzel and "Laughing Orca Ranch" Has bestowed this very silly award to me!

I live for joy, and to know that I may have caused someone to laugh, giggle or chuckle and smile...JACKPOT! Thanks dear friend!!!

This award is given to the blogs that make you laugh. The blogs that stand out and amaze you with wit and wisdom humorously delivered to your heart and funny bone!
The rules are easy and simple.
1. Blog about the Hamfatter award, tell where the name came from (you can copy and paste, that is what I did!!)
2. Post the Hamfatter Award Proudly on your blog!
3. Pick 5 blogs that just make you laugh and link to them in your post.
4. Link back to the person who gave you this hilarious Hamfatter Award.
5. Let your blogger friends know they were awarded a little something.

I now will bestow the Honorable Hamfatter Award on TWO(changed the rules tee, he, he) blogs that just make me laugh.

There are so many more friends I'd give this to, but I am having a problem with concentration lately so the time it takes (me) to think longer/work at doing it...is Just not in me!

DP over at "Food For Founder" and

Funder found at "It seemed like a good idea at the time"

If you wish to scrap the award...please know that is fine! We know that you'll continue to wow us with your talents ...making us laugh and smile!

Love ya gals!

I leave you with a funny( to me at least) video that was me filming on horse back, a Silver Creek Falls ride last time we camped there... I decided to turn around and film the girls riding behind me. One of them decided to follow me in a Circle dance pattern and I responded accordingly- Then, my mare on the otherhand decided to add a move unscripted!

My World Tuesday

Heading out for a ride in the woods, the horses all lined up in a row in the lower paddock, seemingly waiting to bid us off.

The mare and I charted new trails again. We first make markers with ferns and natural objects as branches leaned against the trees base. Eventually the path gets marked by repeated footfalls, and by that time the ferns and most of the branches have crumpled and fallen away, leaving our hoof marks in the forest floor to guide us. Don't you think the ferns markers look like Pineapple heads, or maybe a ceremonious trail unveiling!

We also encountered a band of crows, making the rounds overhead with loud conversation as they circled and landed in the forest canopy. It was nice to see the quarter moon above too. Thanks for visiting my world today...please move around the world and visit more friends at the

My World site!

Have a good day all!

Riding Solitude

Washashe mare and I have had some nice quiet rides in the woods of late. Surprisingly, each time out this week, we have encountered only natural noises. No motors , no dogs barking, nothing but the sounds found in a peaceful glen or stand of forest. A wisp of wind through branches, fluttery wings overhead and the footfalls of the mare as she picked her path through the thick undergrowth, crunching branches and twigs as we made our way through some uncharted territories.
Sometimes we were interupted by the occasional flock of adolescent like crows barking and chattering on, like teens in a crowd.

For the stresses I am under right now, it has been just what any doctor would have prescribed for me! And
Wa has been extra calm. I wondered if something was up with her earlier in the week ,when I found her water trough thickly iced- late day- and she was a bit tucked up...worried me, but all seems to be in right harmony now.

Today's ride trumped the weeks already high marked times, by us in a very nice rounded trot. I was changing my posting stride every 3rd stride on the rising instead of sitting. My sister taught me to do it for better balance..as you can not do it unless you are over your leg. It takes a bit of concentration and rhythm out on the uneven trails. We were in that rhythm and I looked over to see movement of deer were bounding and trotting, almost with us as we strode by ...they stopped short and we continued on without the slightest snort or jump ,this day.

I think that was the ONLY time today I heard sounds, unnatural to the forest deep....Me laughing heartily!
